Golf Driving Technique

My friends in Golf. I would like you to spend a few moments reading this important golfing article.

If you are like every other golfer in the World, Including professionals, then your desire and aim must be to
achieve success at your game. And why not. You are obliged by your fellow golfers who partake in friendly or competitive rounds of golf with you, to play to your utmost ability.

More times than not we fall short in this area so the same old question pops up as it has done so many times before. “Why did I try driving across the water hazard, or why did I not lay up instead of trying to land on the green with my second drive”. These questions keep cropping up and they will keep appearing every time you have a bad drive unless you do something about it. A lot of the time our mistakes are due to poor golf driving technique.

I will impart to you a vital piece of advice given to me by a wise professional golfer. He said, I have always lived my life trying to be the best I could at everything I did.

He continued, just imagine if you were a musical instrument, say a guitar or a grand piano or any instrument you wish to think of and you could play yourself, you could tune yourself to perfect pitch. You could compose whatever you liked. Now do you not think that you would want to play the most beautiful music ever heard. I know you would. So just think about it. We are all instruments and we are all capable of fine tuning ourselves to that perfect pitch, to that level where we know we are at the optimum of our capability.” There was quite a lot more to our conversation but I got the message and I am sure you do too.

To achieve optimum we most likely need to obtain advice in certain areas of our game. With some golfers it could be their putting or their short game, but more times than not it is their driving technique. This is where most problems are, so we must attune ourselves to concentrate on the finer points of the technical advice offered. Then we must discipline ourselves to put this advice in to general practice on the driving range and most importantly on the golf course. It is vital for our game sake that we have a good driving technique.

Golf is a fantastic game, but it can also be heartbreaking. The simplest of shots can go so far wrong that it can keep your mind occupied for hours after, wondering how you could miss such a simple shot. More times than not this is usually a short range putt.

Golf Fitness Tips Any Player Can Use

There is more to golf than just swinging a club at a ball and hoping for the best. To play this sport at its highest level, participants must be relatively strong, agile and have the endurance necessary to play through 18 holes without stopping for too many breathers along the way. When improving play is the plan, fitness in golf can take basic form and turn it into a winning style.
Golf fitness tips that can help anyone with a basic grasp of the game improve their play include:

  • Build up endurance slowly and steadily – A player that can’t make it two holes without stopping for a break, can’t expect overnight miracles on this front. Still, slow but steady work will help improve game. Endurance is vital to include in a list of fitness concepts because it is required to carry a player through in tiptop form from hole one all the way to hole 18. Endurance exercises that are often recommended as part of training for endurance building include jogging, swimming, cycling and other activities that get the heart pumping.
  • Increase strength to increase control and drive power – This list would be remiss if it didn’t mention the importance of strength to the game. While a player won’t need to be muscle bound and rippling to go to the next level, a fair amount of upper body strength can really push a game forward. If this is coupled with other golfing exercises, good form and know how, it can make a huge difference in the final score. Strength training for golf can include any exercise that tightens, tones and builds the muscles in the arms, neck and back. Leg, stomach and glut muscles can also have an impact on play.
  • Keep flexibility in mind – Of all the golfing tips, flexibility training might be the most important. This area of fitness can matter a great deal not only in play, but also in safety. The more flexible and stretched out a player is, the easier it will be to execute form and avoid injury. Basic stretches that target the legs, back, arms and neck can work wonders on this front
  • Other areas of fitness can matter, too – Golf fitness tips should extend beyond actual exercises. Fitness does include overall health and diet, as well. To enjoy a great game of golf, a player has to be well fueled and feeling well. Toward this end, a well balanced, healthy diet that keeps weight in check can prove to be quite essential.

Why Golf Trophies Are So Important to the Game

Golf trophies have become an integral piece to a challenging game. Awarding golf achievements began with the ‘Champion’s Belt,’ which was given to the British Open winner through the 1860s, then replaced by the ‘Claret Jug’ in 1870, then eventually onto today’s grand prize, the ‘Green Jacket,’ secured by the winner of the Masters tournament. Golf trophies symbolize the very best in a sport that requires an equal share of mental and physical prowess to be a true champion.

Golf awards are available in many forms – from crystal trophies, to those made of metal or acrylics. Earning these trophies tell the story of how the golfer arose to the challenge, and prevailed. An engraved crystal trophy is a common prize for the overall winner, while a small metal or acrylic golf trophy might recognize a different tournament achievement such as longest drive or putt. Also, virtually every golf organization presents golf trophies to players who achieve the illustrious hole-in-one.

Professionals on the PGA or LPGA Tour define these achievement awards as recognizing the proficiency and consistency it takes to keep atop the leader boards throughout a complete golfing season. The ‘Vardon Trophy,’ named after British links legend Harry Vardon, is earned by the pro with the lowest average score per round. A newer season-ending award is the ‘Charles Schwab Cup,’ which actually celebrates a successful earning year for the winner. For the women’s league there is the ‘Vare Trophy.’ This prestigious golf trophy not only honors season-long consistency, but it also has a prominent role in deciding who gets into the LPGA Hall of Fame.

The intent of golfing awards and prizes, of course, is to recognize outstanding accomplishments. They can also be quite comical given some golf trophies are awarded for feats such as “bringing up the rear,” or “most water balls.” Regardless of the reason it’s won, an engraved trophy will be appreciated and proudly displayed by any golfer who earns it. The same holds true for other golf related prizes made of other materials, including bronze, which can be a great award for other top finishers.

Crystal trophies have become very popular items in the gifts and awards industry. They have been selected by many golf resorts as a main award for event winners. Crystal trophies, by comparison, seem to grab the most attention of observers as well. Many of them are handcrafted by experts who manage to bring out the crystal’s inherent beauty, while making sure the intent of the award remains the prominent factor. Golf trophies add to the gratification of a sport that is seldom conquered and never truly mastered.
